On his latest set for Rock-A-While Records, he joins forces with another powerhouse fretburner, Jim McCarty, who honed his chops with, among others, Mitch Ryder And The Detroit Wheels and The Buddy Miles Experience. They wanted another A-lister on vocals so they could concentrate on six-stringin’, and made a wise choice in Dan Devins, who doubles down on harp. With three of the five pieces firmly in place, the fivesome is completed by Mike Marshall on bass, and Dave Marcaccio on drums. These guys crank out blues the same way Kenny cranked out Caddys on that Cadillac assembly line back in the day, playing in the clubs at night.

Robin Taylor is undoubtfully the most important and prolific figure of the modern Danish prog scene. He was born in 1956 in Kopenhagen and became a skilled composer, multi- instrumentalist and producer throughout the years.
With some help on guitars and wind instruments by session musicians, the trio presented an eclectic Progressive/Jazz Rock style on this album with a versatile approach and lots of different themes. There is some complex Jazz/Fusion ideas thrown in, bordering to demanding Avant-Prog at moments, not fully supported by the average sound of keyboards, but nevertheless with some nice parts here and there…

Kai D'Raiz was born in March 2014 with this objective, to merge different aesthetic expressions that are part of the baggage of each of its members. This ensemble is crossed by the academic / contemporary music, the folklore and the jazz and of each of these musical genres seeks to subtract its stage to turn it into a genuine artistic expression.

Two years after their first chart entry in Germany with “War Of Dragons” and an almost completely sold out headliner tour, BLOODBOUND are back with their eagerly anticipated new album “Rise Of The Dragon Empire”. One has to make a compliment towards the six swedes as “Rise Of The Dragon Empire” is full of hits, hits and again hits! The band further refined their formula and now comes up with the best material in their entire career. Even if Bloodbound add their own taste, “Rise Of The Dragon Empire” will not only thrill their numerous fans, but also fans of Sabaton, Powerwolf and even Nightwish.

Henry Kaiser has the gift. Whether it's the gift of empathy, of friendship, or simply a more pragmatic gift for creative collaboration isn't clear, but I think it's one of the first two. These guitar duos go all the way back to 1977, and "Wheels Right and Left" with the saintly Davey Williams, coming right up to date with "Infinitum Ad-Infinitum" with the currently omnipresent Ian Brighton. The set starts, properly enough, with "Chrysanthemums", a 1993 meeting with Derek Bailey, just a minute and a half in length, but it ends, even more appropriately with a much longer piece with John Russell called "Split the Difference". In between, you'll find warm, sometimes hilarious selfies with Nels Cline, Fred Frith, Jim O'Rourke, Elliott Sharp, Eugene Chadbourne, Bill Frisell, but also a few less familiar names like Debashish Bhattacharya, Sandy Ewen, Chris Muir and Roberto Zorzi; all this just laboured enough to suggest the range and warmth of Kaiser's creative relationships. These are, as he explains in a minimal sleevenote, friends who became heroes who became friends.
