Theo Kapilidis Neoplatonic Trio - To En (2019)

Theo Kapilidis, a guitarist and jazz composer with action both in Greece and Switzerland, which is the basis of the one and teaches at the University of the Arts in Zurich, is releasing his new album "TO".
It is the third album of Theodoros Kapilidis as leader, having preceded the Bright Shadows (2014) and Inside Views (2016) which were released by Swiss Unit Records. "TO EN" is his first album with his new Neoplatonic Trio and at the same time his first album of collaboration with Puzzlemusik.
The musical universe of Th. Kapelidis focuses on freedom of expression (as is often the case in jazz), but it adds weight to stochastic mood and authenticity and ultimately ends up in an audition that combines innovation with intimacy.
A musically active, wishing to evolve, moves from the post-bop and contemporary jazz of his previous albums to "TO EN" o Theo (as they call him abroad) takes as a starting point atmospheric and highly expressive indie jazz improvisations, which also includes individual electronic elements and is grasped by the rich tradition of Greece, the Mediterranean and Asia Minor.
This is done with discretion, with an exploratory mood that avoids all cliché stereotypes and ultimately leads to a musical effect bathed in the light, thoughtful and at the same time mystical; on a trip from the Pontus Euxinus to the Peloponnese and other stations of the Mediterranean.

The album consists of 8 tracks and reflects on the inside the thoughts of its author for the EN as the source of all the manifestations of Being and Time and the
how everything originates from the EN and returns to it. The concept of the album is to some extent inspired by Plotino (Plato's successor).
