Recorded at the Point Theatre, Dublin (1995-11-24) and from the soundboard although there is some pick up mic interference 3 × Vinyl, LP, Limited Edition, Numbered, Unofficial Release, Coloured Review: Kevin Courtney
David Bowie is dead – that was the simple message which came across last night at The Point in Dublin, as the avant-garde artist formerly known as Ziggy dismembered his own legend and strewed its bloody parts around with cold, calculated abandon.

Bruce Springsteen Among rock music's most iconic figures, Bruce Springsteen often feels like the one who loves and believes in rock & roll the most, eager to re-create the breathless emotions it brings out in him. Embracing the pleasures of the sounds of AM radio in the 1950s and '60s (garage rock, British Invasion, R&B, blue-eyed soul, emotional teen pop) with the literacy of the singer/songwriter movement and a fierce desire to document the lives of the blue-collar world in which he grew up, Springsteen's music was always a grand, ambitious amalgam. (He once said he dreamed of making an album with words like Bob Dylan, sounding like Phil Spector, and with vocals like Roy Orbison.) His sound found full flower on 1973's eclectic The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle (which introduced his most important backing group, the E Street Band), and he rose to stardom with 1975's streetwise, sweeping Born to Run. 1978's Darkness on the Edge of Town and 1980's The River marked a thematic shift, as his songs addressed the malaise of the working class, whose dreams had begun slipping out of reach.

Trey Anastasio Since co-founding the seminal improv rock outfit Phish in 1983, guitarist, composer, and songwriter Trey Anastasio has explored a wide variety of musical pathways ranging from atonal fugues and elaborate charts with Phish to adventurous free jazz on his first solo project, Surrender to the Air (1996), to collaborations with the likes of Tom Marshall, Les Claypool, Philip Glass, Stewart Copeland, and others. Anastasio pursued many of these projects during the 2000s, a period when Phish embarked on several extended hiatuses and breakups. After releasing a shiny, pop-oriented eponymous solo album in 2002, the guitarist formed Oysterhead – a group featuring Claypool and Copeland – and instituted a large solo band that supported him both on record and in the studio.

Metallica is the definitive heavy metal band, the group that brought the gnarly underground sounds of thrash metal into the mainstream, then reshaped the contours of heavy music and hard rock once they became the biggest rock band in the world after the release of their self-titled "black album" in 1991. By that point, Metallica had already experienced enough upheaval for two careers. Emerging from the feverish metal underground of the early '80s, Metallica became a word-of-mouth sensation with their indie releases Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightning, records that helped them land a contract with Elektra. Master of Puppets, their major-label debut, found the band marshaling their forces, but months after its release, the group suffered a tragic bus accident that killed bassist Cliff Burton. Vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, and guitarist Kirk Hammett forged ahead with Jason Newsted, who appeared on 1988's …And Justice for All, their first album to reach the Billboard Top Ten.

Bruce Hornsby Possessing a breezy, nonchalant style that belies his technical gifts, pianist Bruce Hornsby writes powerful songs from the heart that touch on several distinctly American traditions: pop, jazz, bluegrass, and 1960s soul. He worked for a while as a studio player and songwriter, and had his first hit in 1986 with the stirring and philosophical "The Way It Is," a single he recorded with his backing band the Range. An unexpected number one hit, "The Way It Is" kicked off a period where Hornsby straddled the line between heartland rock and adult contemporary pop, reaching the Top Ten with such singles as "Mandolin Rain" and "The Valley Road." Hornsby ultimately rejected the musical mainstream, disbanding the Range so he could tour with the Grateful Dead in the early '90s, then exploring a variety of adventurous musical fusions on his own that decade and with the Noisemakers in the 2000s.

Debuting with the electro-charged Bring It On in 2006, they embraced vintage synth-disco with 2010's Synrise and went in more of a coldwave/industrial direction with 2022's Endless. Lead vocalist Mickael Karkousse, guitarist Dave Martijn, bassist Tom Coghe, and drummer Bert Libeert formed Goose in Kortrijk in 2000. Initially an AC/DC covers band, they won the Humo's Rock Rally contest in 2002 with their own material, and after their debut single, "Audience," was chosen as the soundtrack to a European Coca-Cola advert, they signed with Skint Records. Following the release of their 2006 debut album, Bring It On, they won Best National Alternative Act at the TMF Awards; had their music featured on the likes of Dirty Sexy Money, CSI, and Chuck; and gained critical acclaim with 2010's Synrise and 2012's Control Control Control. Goose returned in 2016 with What You Need and an accompanying film of the same name by Willy Vanderperre. Nonstop, recorded live at the Pukkelpop festival, appeared in 2018. A few singles were released over the following years, appearing on 2021's Something New with remixes. Drifting away from the band's earlier dance-punk sound, the darker, more atmospheric Endless was released in 2022.
