Genre-bending avant-garde folk-metal with hints of prog, baroque & ragtime. Emme aims to raise the standard for female musicians with boundless creativity. Emme is a 28 year old female multi-instrumentalist, wannabe composer hermit type who has been playing & writing for over a decade. Mostly staying indoors and keeping to herself, Emme has recently decided to unleash the fury of her madness onto the world with her first album "Dispelling Differences," which is part one of a four album series on life.

Mahavishnu is an album by the Mahavishnu Orchestra, released in 1984 by Warner Bros. Records. During the 1980s, John McLaughlin reformed the Mahavishnu Orchestra for release of the two albums Mahavishnu and Adventures in Radioland. This band's overall sound was radically different from the original Mahavishnu Orchestra, in particular because of McLaughlin's extensive use of the Synclavier synthesiser system.

Recorded in 1981, this is a diverse and somewhat obscure John McLaughlin outing recorded in France, mostly with French musicians. Classical pianist Katia Labeque makes appearances on acoustic piano and synthesizer; there is a thoughtful version of "Very Early" recorded in tribute to Bill Evans, and a collaboration with flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia, "Manitas d'Oro." In general, McLaughlin is in fine shape on this worthwhile set, both on acoustic and electric guitars, occasionally showing some fire.

Subtitled Live at the Mistake in Cleveland and released as volumes eight and nine of Voiceprint's Bananamoon Obscura series, this is not the original Divided Alien Playbax LP released in 1982, but a crudely recorded live performance from August 7, 1980. The sound is thin (audience recording, probably), but the good mastering job makes the album enjoyable, albeit a fan-only item (and a collector's item, too, since all volumes in this series are limited to 1,000 copies). In 1980, Daevid Allen toured America solo, singing, reciting and playing guitar over pre-recorded tapes. These playback tracks were put together from the 1980 New York Gong album About Time (featuring a completely revamped Gong lineup that included Fred Maher and Bill Laswell).
