Brilliant late '50s material by the great hard bop pianist and equally gifted supporting players, bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Philly Joe Jones. Clark was among the most inventive pianists of the period, a masterful ballad interpreter and dynamic uptempo soloist, while Chambers and Jones had few peers, either as accompanists or in the spotlight.

Today! is the second studio album, but third body of work recorded by folk/country blues musician Mississippi John Hurt. It was released in 1966 by Vanguard Records. This album contains some of the first commercial material recorded after his "rediscovery" in 1963, and is the first he recorded for Vanguard.

Electric Light Orchestra's 2012 concert album Live brings together tracks Jeff Lynne and his band recorded for a PBS special at CBS Television City in 2001. This is the ensemble that toured in support of ELO's 2001 studio album, Zoom, and appeared on VH1 Storytellers. Lynne has always been an avowed studio rat, more comfortable crafting his rock productions behind a soundboard than playing them in front of a live audience. This is partly the reason that the Lynne-helmed version of ELO stopped touring after 1981's Time. Subsequently, there haven't been very many proper ELO concert albums. Which is not to say that the band doesn't sound fantastic here, because it does. Lynne is a musical perfectionist who never fails to deliver on the grand, orchestral rock aesthetic he crafted on so many classic albums. All of which makes this 2001 collection a welcome addition to ELO's discography.

The ‘History of the Joyous and Victorious Resurrection of Our Only Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ’, composed by Heinrich Schütz in 1623, is regarded as the first oratorio in the German language. When Schütz had taken up his functions at the Dresden court in 1617, it was the tradition to sing the Resurrection History of his predecessor Scandello at Easter. The new Kapellmeister gave several performances of this work before deciding to compose a new work on the same text.

Encouraged by these early triumphs, Pratt swiftly expanded his artists roster to include other major stars on the burgeoning reggae scene, with the likes of John Holt, Dennis Alcapone, Pat Kelly and Horace Andy all scoring significant hits with the producer.

If We Fall in Love Tonight is a ballad album released by Rod Stewart on 1 November 1996. It includes mostly previously released songs. The album was released in both the US and UK, though the versions differ slightly. It was released by Warner Bros. Records following the release of a similar ballads album by Madonna called Something to Remember. It produced the singles "If We Fall in Love Tonight" and "When I Need You". If We Fall in Love Tonight reached #8 in the UK and #19 in the US. On 9 September 1997 it received platinum certification.

In the fall of 1975, Bob Dylan embarked on his "Rolling Thunder Revue" tour. It began modestly in New England, with Dylan, Joan Baez, Bob Neuwirth, Rambin' Jack Elliot and their bands hitting small halls in the northeast with only a day or two notice given to the public. Along the way it gathered outstanding critical acclaim and picked up the likes of Joni Mitchell and Roger McGuinn to fill out the bill. By the time it reached Toronto for shows on December 1st and 2nd ’75, the revue had gathered tremendous momentum and now was filling large arenas on a nightly basis. In Toronto they were booked into Maple Leaf Gardens. The shows were running between 4 and 5 hours and despite the impressive roster of performers, this was Bob Dylan's show and his 3 sets were the bedrock of the program.

Laura Pausini, a multilingual Italian pop singer who won a Latin Grammy in 2005 for Best Female Pop Vocal Album, decided to record an album of cover songs when she returned to the studio to record her followup effort. This is a fairly standard practice for pop/rock artists, of course, especially in the wake of a mammoth success like the one Pausini experienced with Resta in Ascolto (released concurrently in Spanish as Escucha in the U.S.).

“This oratorio, Serpentes ignei in deserto, was written in the 1730s by Johann Adolf Hasse, who was probably one of the most famous composers of his time – as famous as Handel, or even more famous than Handel in some countries,” explains Thibault Noally. Both violinist and conductor, Noally founded the ensemble Les Accents, which specialises in vocal and instrumental music of the 17 th and 18 th centuries – notably reviving works that have fallen out of the repertoire. Gramophone has praised Noally’s “dramatic flair” and his instrumentalists’ “crisp, thoroughly idiomatic playing“, and their advocacy for Hasse’s vivid Old Testament oratorio – ‘Fiery Serpents in the Desert’ – is reinforced by a cast of six virtuoso singers: soprano Julia Lezhneva, sopranist Bruno de Sá, and countertenors Philippe Jaroussky, Jakub Józef Orliński, Carlo Vistoli and David Hansen.

After quitting DEEP PURPLE 1973 IAN GILLAN spent quite a while in a musical wilderness before forming IAN GILLAN BAND in late 1975. This part of his career has been well documented on other Angel Air releases. Ian Gillan Band released three studio albums and were set to record a fourth when Ian had a change of heart, he sensed that the reaction to the group's complicated jazz-rock style was in danger of alienating his core audience. Ian decided to disband IGB and to form a new band - GILLAN. As IGB had a large and very loyal fan base in Japan and as the band at that time had no record deal then it was only natural that GILLAN toured Japan.
