The Chaos Game is a mind-bending first full-length effort that deserves its place amongst analogs like Bubblemath, Knifeworld, Diablo Swing Orchestra, and Frank Zappa. Cabinets of Curiosity is a seven-piece ensemble comprised of vocalist Nat Hornyak, bassist Jared Hirst, guitarist Bran Blackmire, keyboardist Justin Jones (who's also in Tungsten, a Philadelphia-based prog metal band), lead guitarist/songwriter James Naprawa, flutist Kristina Bacich, and saxophonist Anthony Warga. They reasonably define their style as "Fragile-era Yes meets Kamelot" and "Frank Zappa meets Fiona Apple"; specifically, Naprawa says that they aim to "touch on what made the classic era of prog so magical," which means merging "super technical" moments in "insane time signatures" with "hummable" musicality.

"The Key" is the debut album from Norwegian progressive rock band Swifan Eolh & The Mudra Choir.
This album was executed by the whole band playing live in the studio, keeping the original bass and drum tracks, while later overdubbing vocals, guitars and keyboards. The songs often come to light in a process of combining ideas made by Tom Inge Andersen and Rune Seip Bjørnflaten and arranging them in companionship with the whole band. Each song seems to have a life of their own and is intuitively given their unique form. Lyrics are written by Rune Seip Bjørnflaten. The texts are expressions of a spiritually seeking attitude, finding inspiration in the esoteric traditions, addressing the labyrinths of the mind, still pointing out keys to freedom from the abyss of suffering.

Frontiers Music Srl is known for building new bands/projects featuring musicians of outstanding quality and who come from unique backgrounds. After an intense brainstorming session, a dream team of renowned metal musicians including Tim "Ripper" Owens (ex Judas Priest, Iced Earth), Chris Caffery (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, Death, etc.) and Mark Zonder (ex Fates Warning, Warlord) was born and put together under the direction of renowned LA-based producer Roy Z. (Bruce Dickinson, Halford, Tribe Of Gypsies). Called SPIRITS OF FIRE (after the title of one of their songs), the music can best be described as classic Priest meets Savatage .

Legendary New Jersey thrashers Overkill will unleash their 19th studio record, The Wings Of War, on February 22, 2019, via Nuclear Blast. The Wings Of War was recorded at Gear Recording Studio in New Jersey, SKH Studio in Florida and Jrod Productions with engineering handled by DD and Dave. The album was produced by the band while Chris “Zeuss” Harris handled the mixing and mastering. It’s with over 30 years under their leather belts that these New Jersey natives prepare to unveil their latest offering, The Wings Of War. With 10 tracks and fifty one minutes long, their 19th full length album is the ultimate combination of sickening brutality and addictive melody. It was yet another incredible album cover design by Travis Smith that sparked the idea of what to name this next album. With 5 of the iconic Overkill winged skulls brooding powerfully around the table seemingly prepared for battle, The Wings Of War simply rolled off the tongue.

The legendary Keith Jarrett Trio, playing live at NDR Funkhaus, Hamburg. The trio with Haden and Motian – formed in 1966 – was Jarrett’s first great band, his choice of players a masterstroke. With the bassist who had learned his craft in Ornette Coleman’s band, and the drummer from Bill Evans’s ground-breaking trio, Jarrett was able to explore the full scope of modern jazz, from poetic balladry to hard-swinging time-playing to ferocious and fiery free music, the improvisation including episodes with Keith on soprano sax. The interaction between the three musicians is uncanny throughout, reaching a peak in an emotion-drenched performance of Charlie Haden’s “Song for Che”. ECM set up the 1972 tour of the Jarrett Trio, including the German radio concert from which this album is drawn. Manfred Eicher returned to the original tapes, remixing the music for this edition in Oslo in July 2014, together with Jan Erik Kongshaug.

Up for It marks the 20th anniversary of Keith Jarrett's "Standards Trio," with Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette, and the group's 17th recording on ECM. (The figure is deceiving because many of these 17 albums have been multi-disc sets.) Up for It also signals a return to the Great American Songbook, after two recordings that were completely improvised, Inside Out and Always Let Me Go.

Nancy Kelly has paid her dues over her career and produced her best CD as a result of her hard work. She benefits considerably from the presence of tenor saxophonist Houston Person on this studio date, as he provides the perfect foil for her sassy vocals. Her regular rhythm section - consisting of pianist Dino Losito, bassist Neil Minor, and drummer Mark Taylor - also provides strong support. Seven of the dozen tracks she chose are standards from the 1930s through the 1950s, including a spirited take of "I've Got the World on a String," a midtempo bossa nova setting of "Like Someone in Love" (with Losito switching to electric piano), and a driving "Falling in Love with Love," the latter two with Person sitting out…
