I Prevail – Violent Nature (2025)

Following recent songs “Violent Nature” and “Into Hell,” the long-running metalcore band have unveiled another new banger, “Rain” — and all three tracks are set to appear on their now-officially confirmed next album, Violent Nature.

The new song is an inkily melodious modern metal cut full of dark-judded hooks and heavy breakdowns. While vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe more generally showcases his growl, he goes croon-mode through the tune, describing tough times, toxic co-dependency and plans to push towards a better tomorrow ("So set me free from this misery").

“‘Rain’ was one of the first songs we wrote for the record,” Vanlerberghe explains. “As time went along and more songs started filling up the tracklist, it continued to be one of my favorite songs. Thematically, ‘Rain’ deals with acceptance of things out of your control and finding clarity.”

The video, meanwhile, takes on a fantastical bent as I Prevail pound out "Rain" within a practice space apparently carved into the side of the mountain, and they get hammered by the elements whilst doing so. This all takes place under the watch of a glassy-eyed and pointy-eared elven figure, vis-a-vis her metalcore-attuned crystal ball.

As previously reported, I Prevail’s recent round of singles follow the May departure of clean vocalist Brian Burkheiser. The band’s current vocal tandem comprises Vanlerberghe and, in Burkheiser's spot, guitarist Dylan Bowman.

Violent Nature is due out September 19th via Fearless Records. An exclusive vinyl variant on blood-shot-colored vinyl, limited to 500 copies, is already up for pre-order in Revolver’s shop.

I Prevail are currently out on tour, and perform tonight (July 18th) at Mansfield, Ohio’s INKcarceration fest before jumping back on the inaugural Summer of Loud tour, alongside Beartooth, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive. You’ll find all of I Prevail’s upcoming concert dates here.
