Since 1996, garage rock, 60s punk, freakbeat, and revival rock 'n' roll have collided in the fuzz-soaked world of The Launderettes. For a quarter of a century, the Norwegian quintet has proven that the raw sound of the 60s still accompanies the best parties. More than 300 shows in the US, Europe, and Japan underline their excellent reputation as a high-energy live band. Previous releases on Steven Van Zandt's Wicked Cool label have brought the band to stages such as Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park, South by Southwest in Austin, and even featured in global campaigns for Nike and T-Mobile. Now the band debuts their fourth studio album on Soundflat.

A new album from jazz pianist Ai Kuwabara, her first in three years, created through sessions with local musicians. Centered around a trio featuring bassist Sam Wilkes and drummer Gene Coye, - also a member of Hiromi Uehara's Hiromi's Sonicwonder - the recording includes guest appearances by legendary and contemporary musicians she met locally. Alongside original compositions by Ai Kuwabara, the album features covers of LA-related classics: Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Parallel Universe" (with vocals by Sam Wilkes), Maroon 5's "This Love", and Michael Jackson's "Heal the World".

Fade Evare are an electronic alt-pop four-piece from Melbourne, formed around siblings Mira and Tori Holleman (formerly of Retiree). In the wake of Bach and Handel, Felix Mendelssohn and his sister Fanny Hensel leave some of the most sumptuous choral pages of the first half of the nineteenth century. In the shadow of Paulus and Elias, the testamentary Christus, unfinished at his death, forms with them a veritable trilogy. Fanny's youthful cantata Lobgesang, composed for her son Sebastian's first birthday, is the joyful and festive counterpoint.

The reign of Elizabeth I (1558–1603) and her successor James I (1603–1625) saw a golden age of English lute music. This enchanting compilation of the album „Consort of two“ by the Icelandic harpist and singer Sólveig Thoroddsen Jónsdóttir and the Costa Rican lutenist Sergio Coto Blanco dates from this period. Aside from solo literature, the repertoire here presented includes lute duos – a combination that gained great popularity in the 16th century. Here the works are played with lute and triple harp. This is based on the long tradition of harps and lutes playing together, as shown in images as early as the 15th century. Particularly noteworthy are the four works in the genre of consort songs (lute, harp and voice), which have a special charm thanks to the clear voice of Sólveig Thoroddsen Jónsdóttir – well worth listening to!

Fay Claassen was born in 1969 in Nijmegen The Netherlands. Before she devoted herself to singing, she followed courses at the academy of ballet. Subsequently she studied at the academy of acting after which she finally opted for singing. She completed her study at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague in Holland with remarkable distinctions for jazz-timing and vocal improvisation.

Marked by the relative freedom regained after the death of Stalin, Shostakovich's quartets n°6 to 12 were written between 1956 and 1968. In this second volume of his complete work, the Cuarteto Casals explores this great decade when the composer never ceases to innovate, trying his hand at structures with geometries and always new ideas. A great page in the history of the string quartet of the twentieth century!

Reed Tetzloff made his Lincoln Center debut with the Mannes Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall, and his New York solo recital debut at Merkin Hall, both in 2012. He has also performed concerti with the the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, the Mississippi Valley and Minnesota Orchestras, the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Rochester Philharmonic; and the Cincinnati, Tbilisi, Queens, and Wayzata Symphonies.

Pacific Triptych for piano was completed in August of 2019. It is based on an earlier unperformed version for full orchestra completed in 2006. So, the piano version recorded here acts as a premiere. As implied by the title, it’s a three-movement score based on contrasting sections that reflect the majesty of the Pacific Coast, especially the drama of the ocean and the endless sky above.
