"Stay with Me" is an album by jazz singer Billie Holiday accompanied by Tony Scott and his Orchestra. It contains a whole recording session of February 14, 1955 in New York, and released in 1958 on producer Norman Granz' Verve label.

Recorded live in Berlin in 1960, this celebrated historical document captures Ella Fitzgerald at her peak and garnered two Grammy Awards, including one for her famous improvised version of Mack The Knife after she forgot most of the lyrics. The album has been inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame to recognize its significance.

"New Star On The Horizon" was recorded in August of 1953 and represents some of the first tracks that Clifford Brown recorded as a band leader. It was produced by Alfred Lion and was originally released in 1954.

In that apogee of polyphonic vocal music, the 16th century, Roland de Lassus (Mons c. 1532-Munich 1594) is pre-eminent. So famous was he that by the time he was 34, Samuel Quickelberg had already written the biography of "the more than divine Orlando", as the poet Ronsard called Lassus, and as early as 1560 had praised the fact that he regarded music and words as of equal importance.

Finally, a Shostakovich CD by the Asasello-Quartett! The internationally successful and award-winning ensemble has long been intensively engaged with the 15 works of the great Russian composer and is now embarking on a complete recording. The new GENUIN release of Dmitri Shostakovich’s Quartets Nos. 7 - 13 now kicks off the series. According to the booklet for the production, “Love, death and dearest people – these are the themes of the works heard on this double CD.” And the Asasello-Quartett spans the breadth of interpretation just as broadly as the variety of themes outlined here: with poignancy, elegance, and virtuosity – a whole world of its own!

Ragnhild Hemsing is thus not only an interpreter and representative of Norwegian musical tradition, but also preserves it and leads it into the modern age. In keeping with the pre-Christmas season, she dives deep into the musical tradition of her home region of Valdres on her new album "Vetra". Winter is the central theme in all her works. The word "Vetra" comes from the dialect spoken in Valdes and means winter. In addition, she has gathered a group of outstanding musicians around her, all of whom are also very familiar with Norwegian musical history.

In the second half of the seventeenth century, London experienced an artistic golden age, with the arrival of many foreign musicians and the proliferation of theatres and concert halls where audiences came to listen to the stars of the moment. One of these musicians was the Italian Nicola Matteis, who arrived around 1660 and became the sensation of the London music scene. Purcell was only a child at the time and there is no record of their meeting, but it is very likely that he was familiar with Matteis’s works, including his Ayres , recorded here for the first time in a version for four-part consort.

What are the origins of the Mexican/Dutch/Russian violist Dana Zemtsov and Ukrainian/Dutch pianist Anna Fedorova? Throughout years of friendship, they discovered many similarities in their upbringing. Both Dana and Anna’s parents met in Moscow’s conservatory. Dana’s parents - Julia Dinerstein and Mikhail Zemtsov - are both renowned violists. Anna’s parents - Tatiana Abayeva and Borys Fedorov - are incredible pianists and famous piano professors.

Hard bop trumpeter Blue Mitchell recorded "The Thing To Do" in 1964 for Blue Note, his first for the label as leader, accompanied by a young Chick Corea on piano at the very beginning of his professional career. Corea even contributes the album's closing number, Chick's Tune. Tenor saxophonist Junior Cook joins Mitchell on the front line, backed by bassist Gene Taylor and drummer Al Foster.

"West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum" is the third studio album by British indie rock band Kasabian, which was released in June 2009. It is also the first album by the band to not feature Christopher Karloff, the band's lead guitarist and songwriter, following his departure during the writing stages of Kasabian's second album, "Empire". The rhythm guitarist Sergio Pizzorno took over as the main force behind the band's song writing and also forced as lead guitarist to replace Karloff's duties. The album name is not related to the Sydney suburb of West Ryde in New South Wales, Australia. The album was nominated for the 2009 Mercury Prize. In October 2009, it was voted the best album of the year by Q Magazine.

The debut album from singer/songwriter Alex Hepburn, 2013's Together Alone, features the British artist's soulful pop sound. Inspired by classic blues, rock, and R&B, Hepburn worked with producer Jimmy Hogarth (Paolo Nutini, KT Tunstall) and Gary Clark (Natalie Imbruglia, Demi Lovato) to craft the album around her passionate vocals. The German radio broadcaster Deutschlandfunk Kultur, the German Music Council, and GENUIN once again jointly present the debut CD of a promising young musician: organist Aurel Dawidiuk is the winner of the 2022 German Music Competition in the organ category. His stellar career, however, goes far beyond that, as Dawidiuk is also celebrating his first international successes as a pianist and conductor. Exploring the theme of B-A-C-H in his organ debut, the major organ works assembled here span three centuries and include music by Johann Sebastian Bach himself, Johann Krebs, Franz Liszt, Zsigmond Szathmáry, and Max Reger – a rich diversity of music covering a wide range of styles!

Seeking inspiration from multiple sources, the theme of Mustonen’s 2nd Symphony, ‘Johannes Angelos’ (2013), is the ancient city of Constantinople and its mysticism. Mustonen’s 3rd Symphony, ‘Taivaanvalot’ (Heavenly Lights) (2020) is based on a section in the Finnish national epic Kalevala and inspired by the cosmic and shamanistic elements in Finnish mythology. In this recording, the solo part is being sung by internationally acclaimed tenor Ian Bostridge.

In the second installment of her recordings of Robert Schumann's piano music, Jimin Oh-Havenith juxtaposes two key works from the famous "piano decade" of 1830-1840: the Kreisleriana op. 16 from 1838 and the Humoreske op. 20, composed a year later. In these pieces, Schumann pays homage to his two most important literary models, E.T.A. Hoffmann and Jean Paul. While in the Kreis-leriana, he merges suite and character piece into a fantastic collage of images, following the traces of Hoffmann's alter ego, the ingeniously eccentric Kapellmeister Kreisler, the Humoreske is designed like an essay in tones.
