Enchantment, the latest project from pianist Fiona Joy Hawkins and violinist Rebecca Daniel, follows in the musical footsteps of the duo’s previous collaborations, Heavenly Voices and To The Wind. Like those prior releases, this new project once again finds Fiona and Rebecca working with Bay Area based label, Blue Coast Records & its founder Cookie Marenco. As a producer and engineer, Marenco is well known for her audiophile recordings that utilize E.S.E (Extended Sound Environment) to capture performances that make the listener feel as if they are “in the room” with the artists. This style of recording is a perfect complement for Enchantment’s lovely, impressionistic tracks that owe a debt to both composers like Satie and some of the great impressionist painters. In Enchantment, Fiona Joy Hawkins and Rebecca Daniel pay homage to the great impressionist painters and composers. Throughout the album, works and track titles reference these great artists like Satie, Monet, and Van Gogh. The music is as impressionistic and beautiful as the cover photo itself.

The unknown sound collective creates sound art compositions of organic field recordings, experimental voice, and minimal instrumentation- a noise and freak folk ensemble that tends towards the otherworldly, often paired with other media. The project is founded by poet and interdisciplinary artist elena botts (mourning dove) who organizes projects & shows by the unknown sound collective virtually & irl (in real life).

Brandee Younger is known for sharing the stage with Jazz Royalty Jack Dejohnette & Ravi Coltrane, laying down tracks with Grammy-Winning Rapper Common and Artist/Producer Ryan Leslie, as well as bringing to life the Classic Impressionistic work of Maurice Ravel. Her ability to feature the Harp in genres of music where the instrument is often absent demonstrates her cross-reaching ability as a musician. This new collection features 6 tracks of meditative and reflective tracks from the Harpist.

Pianist and composer RIOPY has long upheld the benefits of meditation within his life, his music, and his creative inspiration. “I thought this would be a great way to be able to transcend music to an audience as an immersive experience,” says RIOPY of his conception of the project, “to help the listener have a proper meditation experience and feel great.”
