Madeline Dring was born into a musical and theatrical family, and gained an exhibition scholarship to the junior department of the Royal College of Music aged nine.

This release of Mieczysław Weinberg’s complete works for cello and orchestra extends our catalogue of his symphonies, concertos and other works. These albums have contributed to an increasing awareness and popularity of the composer, whose fortunes sadly declined in his final decades. The album represents the Naxos debut of the Tyumen Philharmonic Orchestra, led by its distinguished, multi-award-winning artistic director and chief conductor, Yuri Medianik.

Both pianist and organist, passionate about romantic music, I recently discovered Reubke's work and in particular his Piano Sonata in B? minor (1857) and his Organ Sonata in C minor "Psalm 94" (1857). The latter is influenced by the Fantasy and Fugue on Liszt's "Ad nos ad salutarem undam", created in 1852.

Zuhour (flowers in Arabic) is an album of improvised pieces by the duo of guitarists Ayman Fanous and Joe Morris. While firmly rooted in the free jazz idiom, the pieces veer into unexpected territory, including flamenco and musique concrète. Both guitarists employ a wide array of techniques, from traditional plectrum approaches to fingerstyle and extended techniques.

The Volterra Project Trio redefines classical guitar trio music, drawing inspiration from European Impressionism, Mediterranean folk traditions and cinematic scores. Formed in 2017 at the Volterra Project Summer Guitar Institute, the trio emerged from a deep friendship and shared artistic vision. Luca Isolani and Maarten Vandenbemden, teaching assistants at the Institute since 2016, joined forces with Antigoni Goni to create a vibrant ensemble uniting their creativity and talents as performers, composers and improvisers.

This song reflects that same light with a sound that ranges from the deep bass of the bass to the bright treble of the melody. Like the stone that gives it its name, music transmits energy, joy and a positive vibration, becoming a source of inspiration and well-being for those who listen to it.
