"Live at the Lighthouse" is an emotionally-charged live set featuring bold improvisations and new material from the historic quartet. The album bursts with vibraphonic innovations, rousing piano runs and bluesy moods. The seasoned players perform deeply moving renditions of “The Shadow Of Your Smile” and “What’s New”. Wonderfully spaced and perfectly timed, it is impossible not to be intrigued by this remarkable album.

Recorded at the Avery Fisher Hall in New York on November 25, 1974, The Modern Jazz Quartet comprised of vibraphonist Milt Jackson, bassist Percy Heath, pianist John Lewis and drummer Connie Kay are at their very best. Performing with their distinctive bebop, cool jazz and third-stream sound, a blend of jazz and classical influences, the quartet performs some of their greatest hits including “Bags’ Groove”, “Summertime”, “A Night in Tunisia” and “Django.” This audiophile recording by one of jazz’s finest small ensembles is an essential for any jazz collection.

Warren William Zevon was an American rock singer-songwriter and musician. His most famous compositions include “Werewolves Of London,” “Lawyers, Guns and Money,” and “Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner,” all of which are featured on his third album, “Excitable Boy (1978)” whose title track is also well-known.

Pink Floyd founder member and keyboardist Richard Wright’s debut solo album, Wet Dream, is to be reissued in July. The album has been remixed by Steven Wilson in Dolby Atmos, 5.1 and stereo for this release. The original mix does not feature on any of the three physical formats and all the new mixes include some extra passages of music that were edited out of the original.

The effects of the bebop revolution in jazz music are still being felt and explored. Of the half dozen true pioneers of the movement, pianist Bud Powell has remained somewhat in the shadows, although his work has become a major touchstone for true devotees of the music and a principal influence for most of jazz’s most explorative pianists.

Kazumi Watanabe has for the past 20 years been one of the top guitarists in fusion, a rock-oriented player whose furious power does not mask a creative imagination. Watanabe studied guitar at Tokyo's Yamaha Music School and he was a recording artist while still a teenager. In 1979, he formed the group Kylyn and, in 1983, he put together the Mobo band. Several of his recordings have been made available by Gramavision and they show that he ranks up with Al DiMeola (when he is electrified) and Scott Henderson among the pacesetters in the idiom. This album features a special duet featuring Japanese pianist Kimiko Tanigawa.

Johnny Marr is one of music’s most celebrated guitarists. The former Smiths’ band member presents his debut solo outing, "The Messenger". Produced and written by Marr, the album features him front and center on vocals and guitar. Returning to his roots, "The Messenger" is truly his finest outing, portraying the album he always wished to make. In 1965 the Spencer Davis Group, including drummer Pete York, were recording for Philips Germany, a session produced by Siggi Loch. York and Loch have remained friends ever since, so perhaps it is no surprise to see the drummer, now aged 70, release an album on Loch's ACT label.
