"Staring at the Sun" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the fifth track on their 1997 album, Pop, and was released by Island Records as the album's second single on 14 April 1997. The song peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart, number one in Canada and Iceland and number 26 on the US Billboard Hot 100. In the US, it topped the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks and Adult Alternative Songs charts. It also reached the top 10 in Finland, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand and Norway.

The first single from 1997's album Pop, 'Discotheque' went to No.1 in several countries and was performed live for the first time during the PopMart tour opener in Las Vegas on April 25, 1997.
In October 1996 a 30-second snippet of the track, taken from a promotional release, made it onto the web, with the entire MP3 circulating within a couple of months. This brought forward the release of the single, which itself heralded the dance-music vibe of the album where the band were 'trying to make an ode to club culture without using the tools of dance music' as Bono later put it. The video for the single, with the band performing as members of The Village People, took some fans by surprise. 'I like to think we were dangerously ahead of our time,' reflects Edge. 'It is a great video and has been copied many times since.'

Recorded at Hansa Studio in Berlin and Windmill Lane in Dublin, "Achtung Baby" was U2's seventh studio album and went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance, becoming one of the most significant records of the 1990s. The Grammy-winning album debuted at number one in the US and spawned five hit singles, including "One", U2's highest song on the Rolling Stone list of the 500 greatest songs of all time, ranked at number 36. This Deluxe editon features the original album plus an additional 14 tracks including B-sides and remixes.

Using the textured sonics of The Unforgettable Fire as a basis, U2 expanded those innovations by scaling back the songs to a personal setting and adding a grittier attack for its follow-up, The Joshua Tree…

This three track digital EP was issued as a single on digital storefronts and streaming platforms. It was issued as part of the All That You Can’t Leave Behind 20th anniversary editions. When those albums were released on October 30, 2020, three mixes were not released to streaming services, meaning the only way you could hear the full set of remixes was the buy the album. But those three remixes were released to streaming services on November 13, 2020 as a standalone EP titled Trilogy.
