Friedrich Lux (1820–95) was one of those musicians who formed the fabric of musical life in nineteenth-century Germany: though he worked away from the major cities, as conductor, teacher, organist, organiser and composer, he was an indispensable element of the communities in which he worked. His large body of organ music, as good as unknown before now, brings together elements of the musical language of Bach, Mendelssohn and Schumann, in works that range from the intimate to the grandiose.This second volume brings some of his many transcriptions to the fore.

Alessandro Piccinini was a lute player and composer representing the first half of the 17th century. 400 years have passed since the publication of ``Tablature Volume 1 for Lute and Chitarone'' (1623). A collection of important works written at a time when musical instruments underwent major transformations, starting with "Seconda Pratica." Akiko Sato, who is now in high demand as a lute player and basso continuo player, uses an instrument with gut strings on all strings to unravel the mysteries left behind in sheet music, and to fully explore the depth of the music of this era. With "Fearless Friday", his 6th album, Israeli pianist Omer Klein presents his newest compositions and the new line-up for his trio, with bassist Haggai Cohen-Milo and drummer Amir Bresler.

"Sleepwalkers" is the Israeli-born pianist’s seventh album, and his label debut for Warner Music. Klein, whose music has been called “borderless” (The New York Times), recorded his newest work with his regular trio featuring Haggai Cohen-Milo on bass and Amir Bresler on drums. A student of Fred Hersch’s and a vital part of the New York scene, appearing everywhere from the Blue Note to Jazz at Lincoln Center, he is now a Steinway artist and lives in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The Ohio band Saintseneca made a national name for itself with its moodily stellar 2014 album "Dark Arc", on which it showcases an arsenal of unlikely instruments, from the bulbul to the bouzouki to the bowed banjo. Throughout Dark Arc, all those worldly (and alliterative!) sounds got channeled into rich, dark, lustrous songs - hooky, accessible things that felt exotic and familiar, diverse and consistent. The "Such Things" follows suit, but with even brighter and more intoxicating results. From start to finish, "Such Things" feels like the product of intense care - every word and sound feels thoughtfully wrought.

Henri Herz was a phenomenon in 1830s Paris and 1940s America, but today his music is mostly forgotten. He wrote eight piano concertos, one of which was lost. Concertos 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 appear across two previous volumes of the Romantic Piano Concertos series. Here, Howard Shelley and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra put on their finest dancing shoes to complete the cycle with Piano Concerto No.2 (the one with which Herz conquered America in 1846) and three extended fantasies.
