Queen spent three months in the studio making the landmark "A Night at the Opera", reportedly the most expensive album ever recorded in music history to that point. "Bohemian Rhapsody" alone took three weeks, with the band working 10 to 12 hour days on the multitrack vocal arrangements. The six-minute song contains so many overdubs that the original master tape was almost worn through, according to Brian May. Both the song and the album changed the course of Queen's career and rock music in general, rendering the cliché "classic" an understatement.

Those attending Fairport's Cropredy Convention 2022 will know that we celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of our 1970 LP Full House (albeit two years late thanks to Covid-19 restrictions). The original line-up of Richard Thompson, Simon Nicol, Dave Mattacks, Dave Pegg (with Chris Leslie filling the shoes of the late great Dave Swarbrick) took to the Cropredy stage to perform the whole album. With “A Fleeting Glimpse”, Bjørn Riis has let his inspiration from Pink Floyd really come forth. Here he offers four new songs just under 30 minutes, where you can really cherry pick the Pink Floyd references throughout the listen. In addition to exploring the hitherto unknown treasures of Hungarian folk music, as a composer and folklorist Béla Bartók (1881-1945) worked tirelessly to collect and study the folk music of the surrounding peoples. He looked for ancient, old-style melodies: those that were the most typical of different ethnicities. He found these in peasant communities where, in the early 20th century, people still led a traditional form of life. He also examined how neighboring communities influenced each other's folk music. From 1909 to 1918 he collected nearly 3500 Romanian instrumental and vocal melodies.
