Power Electronics: Thyristor Controlled Power for Electric Motors

Power Electronics: Thyristor Controlled Power for Electric Motors by Raymond Ramshaw
English | PDF | 1975 | 232 Pages | ISBN : 0412141604 | 16.4 MB

The following pages are meant for those who wish to use thyristors. The details of the physics of semiconductor materials or the design of thyristors themselves are unnecessary here but a general description of the device may help to avoid pitfalls during electric circuit design.

Digital Control in Power Electronics, 2nd Edition

Digital Control in Power Electronics, 2nd Edition by Simone Buso
English | PDF | 2015 | 229 Pages | ISBN : 1627057536 | 6.6 MB

This book presents the reader, whether an electrical engineering student in power electronics or a design engineer, a selection of power converter control problems and their basic digital solutions, based on the most widespread digital control techniques. The presentation is primarily focused on different applications of the same power converter topology, the half-bridge voltage source inverter, considered both in its single- and three-phase implementation. This is chosen as the test case because, besides being simple and well known, it allows the discussion of a significant spectrum of the most frequently encountered digital control applications in power electronics, from digital pulse width modulation (DPWM) and space vector modulation (SVM), to inverter output current and voltage control, ending with the relatively more complex VSI applications related to the so called smart-grid scenario. This book aims to serve two purposes: (1) to give a basic, introductory knowledge of the digital control techniques applied to power converters; and (2) to raise the interest for discrete time control theory, stimulating new developments in its application to switching power converters.

Fundamentals of Power Electronics by Robert W. Erickson
English | PDF,EPUB | 1997 | 783 Pages | ISBN : 1461576482 | 79.1 MB

In many university curricula, the power electronics field has evolved beyond the status of comprising one or two special-topics courses. Often there are several courses dealing with the power electronics field, covering the topics of converters, motor drives, and power devices, with possibly additional advanced courses in these areas as well. There may also be more traditional power-area courses in energy conversion, machines, and power systems.

Power Electronics: Devices, Drivers and Applications by B. W. Williams
English | PDF | 1987 | 348 Pages | ISBN : 0333396626 | 22 MB

The objective , ~ f this book is to bridge the gap between semiconductor device theory and device application in the area of power electronics. The majority of existing books concentrate on one aspect at the expense of the other. They either analyse semiconductor physics and material aspects of devices without including any applications or, at the other end of the spectrum, they consider device appli- cations with the device being treated as a 'black box'.
