IR: Theory and Practice of Infrared Spectroscopy

IR: Theory and Practice of Infrared Spectroscopy by Nelson L. Alpert , William E. Keiser , Herman A. Szymanski
English | PDF | 1970 | 509 Pages | ISBN : 1468481622 | 44.1 MB

The first edition of this text was written primarily by one of the present authors (HAS), with a chapter on instrumentation contributed by a second (NLA). The volume was well received, and to keep the text up-to-date a second edition was planned. For this second edition, a third author (WEK) was invited, whose background complemented that of the other two. Each of the authors was assigned several chapters as his primary task while the complete manuscript remained the second ary responsibility of all three.

Phononic and Electronic Excitations in Complex Oxides Studied with Advanced Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy Techniques by Fryderyk Lyzwa
English | PDF,EPUB | 2022 | 158 Pages | ISBN : 3031118650 | 25 MB

This PhD thesis reports on investigations of several oxide-based materials using advanced infrared and Raman spectroscopy techniques and in combination with external stimuli such as high magnetic or electric field, sptial confinement in thin film heterostructures and the radiation with UV light. This leads to new results in the fields of superconductivity, electronic polarization states and nanoscale phenomena.

Quantitative Remote Sensing in Thermal Infrared: Theory and Applications (Repost)

Quantitative Remote Sensing in Thermal Infrared: Theory and Applications by Huajun Tang, Zhao-Liang Li
English | PDF | 2014 | 298 Pages | ISBN : 3642420265 | 7.1 MB

This book provides a comprehensive and advanced overview of the basic theory of thermal remote sensing and its application in hydrology, agriculture, and forestry. Specifically, the book highlights the main theory, assumptions, advantages, drawbacks, and perspectives of these methods for the retrieval and validation of surface temperature/emissivity and evapotranspiration from thermal infrared remote sensing. It will be an especially valuable resource for students, researchers, experts, and decision-makers whose interest focuses on the retrieval and validation of surface temperature/emissivity, the estimation and validation of evapotranspiration at satellite pixel scale, and the application of thermal remote sensing.

The Electrodynamics of Water and Ice

The Electrodynamics of Water and Ice by Vasily Artemov
English | PDF | 2021 | 231 Pages | ISBN : 3030724239 | 11.9 MB

This book is a research monograph summarizing recent advances related to the molecular structure of water and ice, and it is based on the latest spectroscopic data available. A special focus is given to radio- and microwave frequency regions. Within the five interconnected chapters, the author reviews the electromagnetic waves interaction with water, ice, and moist substances, discussing the microscopic mechanisms behind the dielectric responses. Well-established classic views concerning the structure of water and ice are considered along with new approaches related to atomic and molecular dynamics.

Near Infrared Detectors Based on Silicon Supersaturated with Transition Metals by Daniel Montero Álvarez
English | EPUB | 2021 | 262 Pages | ISBN : 3030638251 | 64 MB

This thesis makes a significant contribution to the development of cheaper Si-based Infrared detectors, operating at room temperature. In particular, the work is focused in the integration of the Ti supersaturated Si material into a CMOS Image Sensor route, the technology of choice for imaging nowadays due to its low-cost and high resolution. First, the material is fabricated using ion implantation of Ti atoms at high concentrations.
