“Tzimtzum”: a Hebrew word describing the first step God takes in the process of creation, a contraction of His infinite light into a space ripe for a new realm.

"Live At The Fillmore East" on October 4th & 5th, 1968 is a never before released live album set by Sly & The Family Stone which was recorded in 1968 at Bill Graham's legendary New York City venue The Fillmore East where the band performed for 2 nights. Epic Records recorded all four of these concerts (two shows per night) with plans to release a live album that would consist of selections from these performances but the release was shelved until now.

Anoushka Shankar is a Indian sitar player and composer. She is the daughter of Ravi Shankar and the half-sister of Norah Jones. Her latest solo album "Home", released on Deutsche Grammophone label. "Home" is a pure Indian classical album which showcases the meditative and virtuosic qualities of the Indian raga. Home features two ragas, one of which is a creation of Ravi Shankar's, and with them Anoushka shares an intimate, heartfelt live performance in the traditional style.

Produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Tommy LiPuma, "All The Way" showcases one of the most distinctive and recognizable voices in music history, Jimmy Scott. Presented is a collection of timeless standards executed with Scott’s signature emotion and crystalline vocals. Engineered by Grammy Award winner Al Schmitt, the album brings together some of jazz’s most influential instrumentalists including drummer Grady Tate, bassist Ron Carter and saxophonist David Newman. On this release, jazz saxophonist and flutist Bud Shank devotes more than half the songs to instrumental covers of Beatles songs, in addition to tunes by Boyce and Hart, Burt Bacharach and more.

BRANDENBURGER REMIXED was composed as a tribute to the 300th anniversary of the Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, whose legendary virtuoso trumpet part is still an outstanding benchmark for all trumpet soloists today.

Heinrich Schütz, Dieterich Buxtehude and J. S. Bach are considered the most important musicians and composers of their generations in Germany. Buxtehude was, for a long time, mainly renowned for his organ music, and it was only through the German musicologist and librarian Carl Stiehl's discovery of the Düben Collection in 1888 that his vocal music started to gain attention. His chamber music first came into focus during the 1970s, when research about the performance practices of early music started to be conducted on a larger scale, along with performances with period instruments. Buxtehude's trio sonatas now belong to the standard repertoire.

Trumpet and organ - and yet conceivably far removed from the usual of this popular line-up: that is "O man, pay attention!" - not just an eye-catcher, but program, when the world-class trumpeter Reinhold Friedrich and the Essen cathedral organist Sebastian Küchler-Blessing contemporary works, which as A reaction to the horrors of the Third Reich, placed in dialogue with arrangements of romantic works: in addition to the eponymous slow movement from Mahler's Third, "Kol Nidrei" by Max Bruch and Brahms' "O Tod, wie bitter bist Du" can be heard. Zsigmond Szathmáry, who was highly esteemed by György Ligeti, wrote an “…ad memoriam…” about the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin especially for this production.

This CD brings together works by three outstanding composers from the 19th and 20th centuries, each of whom interprets the connection between violin and piano in a unique compositional way.

As well as exceptional performances, this recording offers phenomenal sound. The recording was made on 3-5 April 2023 at the Fazioli Concert Hall in Sacile, Italy in 5-channel Dolby Atmos high-definition audio and is available as hybrid multichannel SACD presented as a beautiful 2 CD boxed set and 60 page booklet. The instrument used is a Fazioli F278 which Schliessmann has purchased. The recording was made ‘live’ in front of a specially invited audience and thanks to the amazing support of the Fazioli family will also be presented in concert in Venice in the near future.

Nikolaus Harnoncourt is credited with making historical performance practice respectable in Salzburg. His memorable debut concert in 1980 was the prelude to a long string of successes that culminated in the Mozart Week 2006, when Harnoncourt was Artist in Residence and gave his acclaimed ceremonial address on 27 January on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth. The inaugural concert and rehearsals from 2006 can be heard on this album. The 3-Discs edition covers the period of Harnoncourt’s influence on the interpretation of Mozart’s music.

Joachim Andersen (1847–1909) charted an exceptionally diverse path in his career. At the heart of it, he stood as a founding member of the Berlin Philharmonic, adroitly balancing roles as a conductor and a solo flautist of great renown. His legacy includes the composition of eight volumes of études, now considered a cornerstone of the flute repertoire. Andersen emerges as a composer deeply rooted in his era, a sentiment vividly expressed through the enchanting and emotionally resonant tapestry of his works for flute and piano. This essence springs to life in these performances, impeccably interpreted by Alena Walentin and Berit Johansen Tange.

While Joseph Haydn is quite rightly regarded as the most important co-inventor of genres such as the symphony, the string quartet and the piano trio in the form in which they have been handed down since the middle of the 18th century, the instrumental concerts are somewhat different. They primarily served the purpose of giving the individually outstanding members of the Esterházy court orchestra the opportunity to perform as soloists. Nevertheless, one can always appreciate their quality and, upon closer listening, discover a variety of beautiful things in them.

The Violin Concerto No. 5 in A major, K. 219, often referred to by the nickname "Turkish", was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1775, premiering during the Christmas season that year in Salzburg. It follows the typical fast-slow-fast musical structure.

The Wilderness and the Solitary Place is an album of world-premiere recordings in which Ben Parry conducts London Voices and organist William Saunders in choral music by British composer Jonathan Rutherford. Following the release of I Slept and Dreamed that Life Was Beauty, these exceptional musicians reunite to perform Rutherford’s sensitive settings of sacred and secular texts. Three Advent carols inspired by Isaiah include one translated into verse by Jennifer Thorn and another derived from the medieval Coventry Mystery Play.
