Ilse von Alpenheim (born February 11, 1927) is an Austrian pianist.

Mostly written in her youth, Alma Mahler’s Lieder are rarely performed, yet each one is a musical gem that forms an important part of the Romantic song repertoire. Mysterious and obstinate Spain has long been an enormous source of inspiration for many artists who were looking for new images and colours. In France as well, there was a long lasting interest in the exotic Spanish culture. Until the end of the 19th century Spanish music was not represented as much by its composers, but rather by its virtuoso performers and by the rich folklore.

Diogenio Bigaglia, a composer who at present is unknown to most people, was active in Venice in the first half of the eighteenth century, so he was a contemporary of the much better known Tomaso Albinoni, Alessandro and Benedetto Marcello, and, above all, Antonio Vivaldi, whose work shows several evident – and more or less explicit – references to Bigaglia’s production.
