This edited book provides a synthesis of knowledge on Water Productivity (WP) and its role in addressing global challenges related to water and food insecurity, as well as climate change. It explores how increasing WP can contribute to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the global South, with a focus on SDG 2, 6, and 12.

In this book, Sarah Rüller offers a comprehensive exploration of the complexities and nuances of conducting Western digital research in non-Western contexts, focusing on a case study in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The research underscores the importance of addressing the challenges inherent in navigating this intercultural landscape, particularly as Western researchers immersed in ethnographic work. The studies highlight the multifaceted issues surrounding postcolonial frameworks, extractivism, technocapitalism, exploitation, and the evolving paradigms of development and sustainability, and underscores the urgent need for a more pluralistic, site-specific co-design approach. This approach is central to promoting inclusive and just digital futures, mitigating the impact of WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic) biases, and unraveling the complex interplay of local and rural contexts torn between authenticity and exploitation by information and communication technologies (ICTs). This research delves deeper into a critical analysis of the establishment of a MediaSpace and the different community perspectives on technology access, revealing tensions and contradictions that shape the discourse on development and self-determination.

Dies Buch. In der Natur, heißt es, befindet sich alles im Kreislauf. Für die Circular Economy und Bioökonomie ist die Kreislauffigur deshalb „das“ Leitmotiv. Ein Teil ihrer Denkschulen orientiert sich an der Natur und will deren Kreisläufe nachahmen. So bedeutend der Kreislaufbegriff für sie aber auch ist, in den zugehörigen Fachgemeinschaften fehlt es bisher an einer Auseinandersetzung damit. Diese Lücke soll das Buch schließen. Es befasst sich damit, was Kreisläufe sind, betrachtet die historische Entwicklung des Denkens in Kreisläufen, unterscheidet verschiedene Kreislaufmodelle und fragt danach, ob die eingangs getroffene Aussage, dass die Natur in Kreisläufen arbeitet, tatsächlich zutrifft. Abschließend erfolgt ein wichtiger Vergleich: Ist das, was mit Blick auf die Natur als Kreislauf bezeichnet wird, dasselbe, wie das, was in der Circular Economy und Bioökonomie so genannt wird?

This book presents peer reviewed articles from the 14th Arab Conference on Astronomy and Spaces Sciences (AUASS), held from 13 – 16 November 2023 at the University of Sharjah, UAE. It includes recent advances in the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, space sciences and technologies, including the universe and its components of celestial objects, including stars, galaxies, stars, planets and the solar system. Additional topics covering earth from outer space, the physics of the sun, solar activities and their impact on the atmosphere and the environment are included. A number of chapters will be dedicated to the Arab heritage highlighting their contribution in astronomy and space sciences.
