Fronted by singer-songwriter Olivia Street, King of Foxes has released three critically acclaimed albums. Twilight of the Empire—recorded in a basement with beige shag carpet on the walls and a Wurlitzer in the closet—quickly rose to #1 on the CKUA chart. Her music has also found its way onto some prestigious “best of” lists, including as #11 on CKUA’s Top 100 Albums of 2022, and among NPR radio’s George Graham’s Best of the Year list. A new album is scheduled for release in 2025, titled Hall of Shame, with JUNO-winning producer Zach Zanardo.

“I wanted to explore the concept of shame as something we’ve evolved to feel for social reasons, to survive in groups. But it’s also been weaponized, especially against women, to control us. I wanted to look at the messiest parts of my life, the things that keep me up at night, and ask: why am I driven to basically hate myself? These are things we’re not supposed to talk about, and on this album, I wanted to confront them head-on.” (King of Foxes)
