Grouplove is an American indie rock band that was formed in 2009. "Big Mess" is their third studio album. Recorded in Los Angeles and Seattle with producers Captain Cuts (Grouplove's own Ryan Rabin) and Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses, The Shins), Big Mess features the signature anthemic choruses and infectious hooks that first brought the Los Angeles quintet to prominence through hits like "Tongue Tied", "Colours", and "Ways To Go". No stranger to the worldwide festival circuit, Grouplove has made an album that brilliantly showcases their richly narrated songs with elaborate production.

Although he has played trumpet, trombone, clarinet, tenor and piano, it is as an alto saxophonist that Benny Carter has achieved his enviable reputation as an instrumentalist. The Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winner has acted as an inspiration to generations of young musicians, all of whom have been fascinated by the seemingly effortless way in which that flawless tone was produced. The broad, sweeping phrases of his improvisations have the structural stability of compositions in their own right. This 1980 session, recorded for the Danish Storyville label, finds Carter backed by a fine quintet including pianist Kenny Drew, bassist Jesper Lundgard, drummer Ed Thigpen and Richard Boone, who sings on "All That Jazz".

Zoot Sims was known to jazz fans around the world as one of the original "Four Brothers" in the Woody Herman band. He has became known, albeit indirectly, to another generation as the namesake of "The Muppets" cooler-than-cool sax player Zoot with the long blue hair, fedora and the shades. This album concentrates on energetic standards from the swing era arranged for a quartet and features some early impressive piano work from Dave McKenna.

"Misfits" is the English rock band The Kink's sixteenth studio album. The record is part of the group's second coming during the late 1970's and early 1980's, taking a turn for the better after the group's earlier, less successful concept albums. The 1978 album features US top 40 hit "A Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy".

"Give the People What They Want" is the eighteenth studio album by the English rock group, The Kinks. It was released in August 1981 in the US, but was delayed until January 1982 in Europe. It was delayed because Ray Davies wanted to produce a full length video for the album, but financing fell through. Also scrapped were plans to remix the album for the European market. The album was initially aimed to be a statement on the media.

"State of Confusion" is The Kinks nineteenth studio album originally released in 1983. The record was well received, peaking at number 12 on the Billboard Album Charts. State of Confusion featured popular singles "Come Dancing" which make it to number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, "Don't Forget to Dance" and the title track.

This 1970 holiday release is the second Christmas album from The Miracles, following a successful, highly acclaimed 1963 outing. "The Season For Miracles" features traditional numbers, classic favourites and several originals, including two songs by Stevie Wonder. The Temptations join The Miracles on Mel Tormé's "The Christmas Song".

Norwegian saxophonist Trygve Seim sets the poetry of Jalaluddin Rumi (1207-1273), using the inspired contemporary English-language versions of Coleman Barks and Kabir Helminski as his source texts. Trygve responds both to the musicality of the translations and to Rumi’s gifts as a storyteller and with Rumi Songs seems to have invented a new kind of Lieder with a Nordic-Oriental orientation. The line-up is strikingly unorthodox, with each of the quartet members bringing their own musical personalities to the material. Classical mezzo-soprano Tora Augestad is well-known as the leader of her own ensemble Music For A While, and for her numerous music-theatre collaborations with Christoph Mathaler. She finds an intimate tone to convey Rumi’s thoughts, underlined by the elegant arrangements and the improvisational input of Seim, Haltli and Henryson.

The Jesus and Mary Chain fronted by the Reid brothers Jim and William, released their long awaited studio album "Damage and Joy" – their first album since "Munki", released back in the summer of 1998. Including lead track ‘Amputation’ and a re-energised new version of ‘All Things Must Pass’ which previously featured in the TV show ‘Heroes’.

Czech multi-instrumentalist-composer Karel Velebny was a major force in the emergence of Czechoslovakia onto the international jazz scene in the 1960’s. Appearances at the Berlin Jazz Days in 1964 and subsequent tours throughout Western Europe led to his group’s (SHQ) breakthrough. Here the group is augmented by four woodwinds. All the tunes are by group members.

Despite singing together since they were old enough to talk, it took a lifetime for sisters Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer to record together. United by blood, growing up in the backwoods of Alabama and sharing an unspeakable tragedy – they witnessed their father take their mother's life and then his own – their coming together on Not Dark Yet was perhaps inevitable, but it wasn't easy. The pair did a celebrated tour together in 2010 and tried to write a collective album afterwards. They ended up abandoning that project, but not the desire to collaborate.

On their fifth studio effort, "Sky Is Mine", English indie rockers The Duke Spirit valiantly search for humanity within a galaxy that oftentimes is quite full of the exact opposite. The band’s mission isn’t without its detours and obstacles, however, as the latest LP track proves. Titled “Houses”, it’s steeped in an aura of reverb and psychedelia, and conjures the feeling of uncertainty and need.

The songs have been arranged by the most sought-after and best jazz arrangers including Baptiste Trotignon, Pierre Boussaguet, Patrice Caratini and Cyrille Lehn. Recorded with the Paris Mozart Orchestra and 2 Jazz Musicians, this is Natalie Dessay’s exciting first album release for Sony Classical. The first disc contains eleven songs from the Great American Song Book and the second: 8 compositions by Graciane Finzi (inspired by the Hopper paintings), texts by French poet Claude Esteban, recited by Natalie before Barber’s Adagio closes the album.

"Heart Break" is the seventh studio album by American country pop trio Lady Antebellum. The album serves as the "spiritual follow-up" to 2010's Need You Now and is their first release since 2014's "747", with its three-year gap being the longest between two albums by the group to date. The album was written and recorded primarily in Florida and California, due to the group feeling creatively stifled in Nashville.

"Free Lancing" is James Blood Ulmer's first of three albums recorded on the Columbia label and was recorded in 1981. Ulmer's playing has been described as "blistering" and "stinging" on this record, and Trouser Press described it as "a technical masterpiece".
