Part of the late-1970's 2-tone ska revival, Madness have enjoyed huge chart success, including spending 214 weeks in the British charts during the Eighties, more than any other artist. Hailing from Camden, North London; Madness became internationally known after the 1982 single 'Our House', which later inspired the musical of the same name, based around Madness songs. CD1 kicks off with a run of Synth-Pop gems from established artists Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Blancmange, Gary Numan and Talk Talk alongside some newer bands, The Lotus Eaters, Freur and After The Fire… Japan released a live instrumental, and Yello, Divine, Rockers Revenge and Freeez presented fantastic club tracks. The second disc opens with a stunning collection of Indiesingles from Bauhaus, Marc And The Mambas, The Stranglers and The Glove – featuring members of both The Cure and Siouxsie And The Banshees! CD3 features some huge and long-established superstars Billy Joel with the stunning opener Goodnight Saigon, Bonnie Tyler, Lionel Richie, Mike Oldfield, The Kinks, Olivia Newton-John and U.S. hit for Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton with a cover of Bob Seger’s ‘We’ve Got Tonite’.

This disc includes many tracks new to CD, some of the biggest Reggae stars of the era and many of the finest Roots Reggae tracks of the 1970s. When 1976 came along, Niney The Observer was widely seen as one of Jamaica’s finest producers on the island’s music scene. Niney worked with many top Reggae artists, including Dennis Brown, Ken Boothe, Denis Wilson, Junior Byles, Big Youth and Max Romeo. Niney’s reputation as a producer came with his ability to be a man of the people. This 2CD collection comes with Niney’s finest productions from the golden age of classic Roots music and featured we have Gregory Isaacs, Cornel Campbell, Junior Byles and Horace Andy amongst others. Many of the tracks have not been heard widely for almost 50 years.

UB45 celebrates 45 years of UB40, featuring seven new tracks plus fresh recordings of some of the band’s most loved hits. Robin Campbell says: “We’re so proud of the new album. UB40 are the world's biggest-selling reggae group with over 100 million album sales, 50 UK Top 40 singles and 10 UK Top 10 albums. The band has stood the test of time over the course of 45 years, touring the world together and recording music shot through with an unbreakable bond of brotherhood, fostered by their long-standing friendships and shared Birmingham roots. The line-up proudly boasts all but one of the surviving founding members, now bolstered by the reinvigorating and reenergising presence of vocalist Matt Doyle. UB45 sees the band do what they do best, with songs that fearlessly address societal hot button issues and take a firm stand against the injustices of the world. Uprising would be the final studio album featuring Bob Marley & the Wailers to be released during Marley's lifetime. Prophetically, it also contains some of the band's finest crafted material, as if they were cognizant that this would be their final outing. The album's blend of religious and secular themes likewise creates a very powerful and singular quest for spirituality in a material world. Although it is argued that an album's graphic design rarely captures the essence of the work inside, the powerful rebirthing image of a rock solid Marley emerging with his arms raised in triumph could not be a more accurate visual description of the musical jubilation within. Musically, the somewhat staid rhythms often synonymous with reggae have been completely turned around to include slinky and liquid syncopation. "Work," "Pimper's Paradise," and the lead-off track "Coming in From the Cold" are all significant variations on the lolloping Rasta beat.

To coincide with the 50th anniversary of Island Records, UMTV releases a 3CD set of classic Island hits plus a number of unique cover versions from current Island Artists. Founded by the legendary Chris Blackwell, Island has been long renowned as the most musically influential record label and has been consistently successful over the years. One of their earliest hits "My Boy Lollipop" by Millie is included, as well as a host more hits and cover versions, including an exclusive version of "Monkey Man" by Amy Winehouse. The album is sure to appeal to Island Records aficionados as well as all music fans.

Going for Broke is a 1984 album by Eddy Grant. Following the major success of the previous Killer on the Rampage, this album takes a similar approach but was not as successful. It featured the U.S. hit "Romancing the Stone", as well as the singles "Till I Can't Take Love No More" and "Boys in the Street". "Romancing the Stone" was intended for the 1984 feature film of the same name, in fact was announced by Casey Kasem on the 30 June 1984 edition of American Top 40 as the title song to the movie, but ultimately was not used, though clips from the film appeared in the song's music video, and the song is mentioned in the film's closing credits.

Stephen Marley is one of the most respected artists in reggae and pop, with eight Grammy® Awards from his career as a solo artist, as a producer and as a member of his family band, Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers. Catch A Fire, Bob Marley And The Wailers seminal first release on Island Records, universally regarded as the album which put reggae music on the global stage, is being re-issued, via Universal Music Recordings on November 3 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of its original release in 1973.

Catch a Fire was the major label debut for Bob Marley and the Wailers, and it was an international success upon its release in 1973. Although Bob Marley may have been the main voice, every member of the Wailers made valuable contributions and they were never more united in their vision and sound. All the songs were originals, and the instrumentation was minimalistic in order to bring out the passionate, often politically charged lyrics.

Dusty Fingers is the name of a series of compilation records of songs that are widely admired as breakbeats collected by Bronx DJ Danny Dann the Beat Mann. Some of the songs featured contain "open breaks" which are solo drum passages which enable DJs to easily transition into them. These are also attractive to producers, who loop or rearrange them to create new compositions. Following in the tradition of the Ultimate Breaks and Beats series, the Dusty Fingers records contain an eclectic range of musical styles: mainly funk and jazz, but also including soul, rock, disco, and pop. Many of the songs in the Dusty Fingers series have been sampled into new musical compositions, mainly by hip hop producers. Popular songs that sample songs from the Dusty Fingers series include "Guilty Conscience" by Eminem, "Find Your Wealth" by Nas, "Rowdy Rowdy" by 50 Cent, "Show Me What You Got" by Jay-Z, "Daydreamin'" by Lupe Fiasco, and "Dr. Carter" by Lil' Wayne.
