After recording Band on the Run as a three-piece with wife Linda and guitarist Denny Laine, McCartney added Jimmy McCulloch on lead guitar and Geoff Britton on drums to the Wings line-up in 1974. Having written several new songs for the next album, McCartney decided upon New Orleans, Louisiana as the recording venue, and Wings headed there in January 1975. As soon as the sessions began, the personality clash that had been evident between McCulloch and Britton during Wings' 1974 sessions in Nashville became more pronounced, and Britton - after a mere six month stay - quit Wings, having only played on three of the new songs. A replacement, American Joe English, was quickly auditioned and hired to finish the album…

New 2024 studio album from The Call. The Call recorded “Beaten at Your Own Game,” “Can't Find Love,” and “Christine” ca. 1978-1980, during a time in which the band called themselves Airtight and, later, Motion Pictures, and before the band cut their first deal with Polygram. “Welcome to My World” is an outtake from 1986's Into the Woods sessions.

Lowell George was the guitar virtuoso, vocalist and songwriter for Little Feat. In this collection of 25 songs, artists as Elvis Costello, Ben Harper and Dave Alvin interpret and perform his diverse catalog.George, born in Hollywood, California was a member of Frank Zappas Mothers of Inventions before leaving that band and forming Little Feat with Bill Payne. Lowells tenure in the band was for 7 years until his death and in that time, they released eight albums. While George died in 1979, his legacy lives on through this album.

In celebration of musical icon Barry Manilow's 2024 residency at the London Palladium, his #1 UK album 'Barry Live in Britain' is being reissued on CD. John Oates is having a full-circle moment after leveraging a canny mix of new-wave soul to reach multi-platinum heights with Daryl Hall in the '80s. His sixth solo album is titled Reunion, but if anything it's a homecoming with Oates' former self. This is the John Oates from before Hall and Oates, the one who wrote two songs and co-wrote four others on 1972's jangly Whole Oats. You may associate him with flashy MTV videos, but the first things we heard from Oates featured pedal steel. His similarly rootsy turn as a solo artist has echoes in the past.

Fifty years after Don McLean's seminal release, American Pie, Don headed into the studio to record new original tracks for his upcoming release, American Boys. Don had not thought he would do another original album, but the pandemic hit us all, and he had time to consider and write. American Boys was conceived with the help of Vip Vipperman, Mike Severs, and many musical friends. Much like McLean's American Pie and its nostalgic shift of music from the '50s through the '60s, along with subsequent releases confronting other socio-political flaws within America, American Boys also examines the severedness within the country, its injustices, inequality, and more.
