Susanne Kujala is a German organist and classical accordionist living in Finland. She studied accordion, coaching, and organ at the HfM "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. She graduated with a Doctor of Music Degree from the Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki in 2013.
As an accordionist, she is known for premiering Haapamäki's solo work Power, as well as numerous other compositions by Aho, Lundquist, and Pulkkis, among others, which she has premiered with her husband Veli Kujala. With him, she also premiered the Double Concerto by Joachim F. W. Schneider with the Lapland Chamber Orchestra conducted by John Storgårds.
The present complete recording of Johann Sebastian Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier on classical accordion was made over a period of three years alongside her busy concert schedule, which has taken her to venues such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Philharmonie de Paris, and to festivals such as Toulouse des Orgues, Ultima Oslo, and BRANDNEU Kassel.
