Based in Nantes, The Freaky Buds return on October 17, 2025, with Western Smoke, released by Freak Land Records / Inouïe Distribution. This second album, recorded and produced by Kid Andersen at the legendary Greaseland Studio, celebrates a fiery, authentic, and intensely vibrant blues sound. Blending heritage and modernity, the influences of R.L. Burnside and The Red Devils meet a bold, contemporary approach. Before hitting the studio, the band crisscrossed California on a memorable road trip. The scorching landscapes, long drives, and inspiring encounters imbued the album with a palpable sense of cohesion and freedom. Kid Andersen's touch, with an international career alongside blues greats, brings a rootsy, organic sound while still allowing room for modernity.
