The young violinist Emilija Kortus not only presents a sophisticated dialogue between old and contemporary works, but also documents her personal and intense connection to an exceptionally valuable instrument: a violin by Francesco Ruggeri from the year 1680. With this production, the outstanding sound quality of this instrument is recorded as a solo for the first time.

The recorded program combines significant works of the past with contemporary music and reflects in a special way the artistic identity of Emilija Kortus. At the same time, the selection of works offers a condensed depiction of the development of violin technique over the past 300 years and underlines the artistic versatility of the interpreter. As a special highlight, the program includes a work by the composer Miroslav Miletić, with whom Emilija Kortus feels particularly connected due to her origin.
