Description
This comprehensive course provides in-depth knowledge of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) process operations and safety measures in compliance with NFPA 58 (Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code) and NFPA 54 (National Fuel Gas Code). Participants will gain a strong understanding of LPG properties, storage, handling, and transportation while ensuring compliance with international safety standards. The course covers the following topics;LPG IntroductionLPG Application & usageSignificance of LPG propertiesRules & Regulation in LPG IndustryLPG unit Process & unit operationsProcess & Instrumentation DiagramHazard identification (Sources of ignition & Potential Leakage)Process Safety Hazard ControlsFire Protection & Emergency ResponseApplication & Importance of HAZOP studyRole & features of Permit-to-work SystemCathodic ProtectionAfter completion of the theoretical part and case studies, the plant site is visited to familiarize the participants about the as built process to understand the concept categorically. The course covers LPG facility design, including storage tanks, piping systems, pressure relief devices, and safety controls. Special emphasis is placed on hazard identification, risk assessment, and fire prevention techniques to mitigate potential risks associated with LPG operations. Attendees will also learn about SCADA system integration for process control, ensuring safe and efficient LPG handling. Participants will explore fire and explosion hazards, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and safe work practices to minimize workplace risks. The course also includes inspection, testing, and maintenance (ITM) protocols, emergency shutdown procedures, and incident response strategies to enhance operational safety.Through real-world case studies and lessons learned, participants will develop a proactive approach to managing LPG safety and regulatory compliance. This course is ideal for safety professionals, engineers, operators, and industry personnel involved in LPG processing, distribution, and facility management.Upon completion, participants will have a solid foundation in LPG safety regulations, ensuring their ability to implement best practices that align with NFPA standards and industry requirements.
