The fourth, fifth, and sixth box sets dedicated to compiling all of Depeche Mode's single releases were put out in 2004, 13 years after the first three originally appeared. All of these sets provide a convenience for hardcore fans since they provide each single in its own slim jewel case. Needless to say, those who bought the original singles as they were released will be flustered once again. The fourth set, covering 1987 through 1990, includes the "Strangelove," "Never Let Me Down Again," "Behind the Wheel," "Everything Counts (Live)," "Personal Jesus," and "Enjoy the Silence" singles. At this point in Depeche Mode's career, each A-side was being remixed several times over; when not filled out with live material or the occasional nonalbum track, the discs contain anywhere between a few and several alternate looks.

The ambitious Swiss electronic duo Yello comprised vocalist/conceptualist Dieter Meier - a millionaire industrialist, professional gambler, and member of Switzerland's national golf team - and composer/arranger Boris Blank. The two began collaborating in 1979 and debuted with the single "I.T. Splash." After a steady ascent, their star rose significantly with the inclusion of their 1985 single "Oh Yeah" in John Hughes' Ferris Bueller's Day Off. They consolidated their subsequent international success with 1988's "The Race," a Top Ten hit in seven countries. Next came a move into film, while maintaining a six-album run of Top Ten placings on the Swiss charts that stretched into the late '90s. Although Yello's releases became less frequent in the new century, the duo became even more successful in their homeland…

Germany's biggest rock export, Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein burst onto the international radar in the late '90s with their breakthrough sophomore set, 1997's Sehnsucht, and its accompanying hit single "Du Hast." With their aggressive blend of heavy metal riffs, dramatic orchestration, and synth-forward electronic production, the band quickly evolved from a sonic novelty into a reliably hard-hitting machine that never shied away from controversy. Following the chart-topping success of 2001's Mutter, Rammstein became a fixture at the top of the German charts in a decades-long career that secured a devoted international fan base, multiple platinum-certified albums, and no less than a dozen number one singles…

Two singles from Erasure's fourteenth studio album "Tomorrow's World".
Established in London in 1985, enduring alternative dance duo Erasure combine the talents of emotive, broad-ranged vocalist Andy Bell and synth idol Vince Clarke, previously a founding member of Depeche Mode and Yazoo. Like those bands, Erasure is a synth-based group, but with stronger, more house-oriented dance inclinations, as well as a sharp, accessible sense of pop songcraft.

"World in Motion…" is a song by British musical group New Order (performed with the England national football team, credited as ENGLANDneworder). The song is New Order's only number-one song on the UK Singles Chart. It was produced for the England national football team's 1990 FIFA World Cup campaign, and features a guest rap by England footballer John Barnes and additional vocals by several members of the English team of 1990 and comedian Keith Allen, who had co-written the lyrics.
One of the band members described the single as "the last straw for Joy Division fans", noting how its upbeat sound had inverted their former band's famously gloomy image. The song was originally to be called "E for England", but the Football Association vetoed the title, realising that it sounded suspiciously like a reference to the drug ecstasy.

"Spooky" is a song by English band New Order. It was released in December 1993 as the fourth and final single from their sixth studio album, Republic (1993). The song would be their last single proper until 2001's "Crystal". CD one featured remixes by Fluke, while CD two featured remixes by Paul van Dyk and Tony Garcia.
Rising from the ashes of the legendary British post-punk unit Joy Division, New Order triumphed over tragedy to emerge as one of the most acclaimed bands of the 1980s; embracing the electronic textures and disco rhythms of the underground club culture many years in advance of its contemporaries, the group's pioneering fusion of new wave aesthetics and dance music successfully bridged the gap between the two worlds, creating a distinctively thoughtful and oblique brand of synth pop appealing equally to the mind, body, and soul.

The song samples the 1960 recording "Sometimes" by American blues singer Bessie Jones. Moby first heard "Sometimes" on a box set collection of folk music compiled by Alan Lomax, and subsequently composed "Honey" around vocal samples from the Jones song. "Honey" was well received by music critics, many of whom cited it as a highlight of Play in reviews of the album. Upon release as a single, "Honey" charted in several countries in Europe, despite receiving little airplay on European radio.
